Stone Soap Company, Inc., America's oldest car wash chemical manufacturing
company, celebrates 77 years being in business this year. Originally located in
Detroit, MI, the company employed only two people. Today the company operates
in a modern 150,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Sylvan Lake,
a suburb of Detroit, MI.
The professional car wash industry was new in the early 1960's, and many
products and processes needed to be developed. Stone Soap originated several
products common in today's professional auto washes. These products include
pressure wash detergent for the self-serve auto washes, rinse aid and spray wax
for automatic auto washes, and multi-colored foam shampoos for self-serve and
automatic auto washes. Stone Soap is now hard at work developing the next
generation of environmentally safe, reclaim system compatible products for the
auto wash industry.
Stone Soap Company, Inc. is proud of its newest innovation in the auto wash
industry - the world's first car wash training academy. This remarkable
facility trains car wash owners and managers to maintain their wash facility
and produce a consistently clean, dry, shiny car for their customers.
